United Nations: Pax Christi International writes to UN Security Council members to ask for their support for nuclear disarmament
The fifteen UN Security Council members are meeting on 18 January for a briefing titled, “Non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction: confidence building measures”, which will be chaired by Kazakhstan President Nazarbayev. Pax Christi International has written letters to them to ask, as a member of the UN Security Council, to take advantage of this briefing to clearly and strongly reinforce the global norms against the use, possession and testing of all weapons of mass destruction, which includes the new UN treaty prohibiting nuclear weapons.
