Support Pax Christi International by giving to the 2016 Advent Appeal
Advent 2016, Advent, Advent Appeal
The prophet Isaiah's message is clear: We are called to work for a world free of war and to bring peace to all nations. For over 70 years, Pax Christi International has placed the peace of Christ at the center of our Christian vocation.
ADVENT is understood as a time of preparation, a time to recommit ourselves to the mission set out for us by Isaiah and modeled for us in word and deed by Jesus. It is a time of renewal and a chance to make all things new.
Will you click here and help us to make Isaiah's vision for our world a reality today by supporting our Advent Appeal this year?
The Catholic Nonviolence Initiative presents a monumental opportunity to newly place the vision and practice of active nonviolence at the heart of the Catholic Church. Pax Christi International has launched this exciting project with gratitude for the moral authority and support of Pope Francis. With this new initiative, we are seizing the opportunity to affirm and renew the centrality of active nonviolence for the Catholic Church.
The Initiative's potential is only limited by how fully we can dedicate efforts to its success in the new year. Sustaining the momentum and expanding the Catholic Nonviolence Initiative will require our supporters who value nonviolence as we do to commit support.
Will you please celebrate the season of our Lord's birth by clicking here and offering your generous support to help make the Catholic Nonviolence I nitiative sustainable?
With your support, the Catholic Nonviolence Initiative will:
- Call on Pope Francis to share with the world an encyclical on nonviolence and just peace;
- Integrate Gospel nonviolence explicitly into the life and work of the Church at every level;
- Train Catholics around the world in nonviolent practices and strategies;
- Lift up the prophetic voice of the church to challenge unjust world powers and to support those nonviolent activists whose work for peace and justice put their lives at risk.
As we prepare to welcome the Prince of Peace, we encourage you to please make a contribution to Pax Christi I nternational and join this historic opportunity to recommit the Catholic Church to gospel nonviolence.
Thank you and may the blessing of this holy season be with you and all those you hold dear.
Marie Dennis and Bishop Kevin Dowling C.SS.R.
