South Sudan: Msgr. Taban calls on political leaders to restore peace

From Sudan Tribune

Msgr. Paride Taban, Torit's emeritus bishop and former executive council member of Pax Christi International, released a short but vigorous call to South Sudanese political leaders to restore peace in the country. He also proposes a remedy for achieving this result: We need peace, patience, compassion, sympathy, kindness, truth and forgiveness for each other to rebuild peace.

South Sudan has been under civil war for four years, with factions led by the president and his former prime minister. The ethnic conflict has already cost thousands of people their lives and displaced more than 2 million people. In 2013, Msgr. Paride Taban won the Peace Prize awarded annually by the United Nations.

Msgr. Taban founded Pax Christi International's member organisation in South Sudan, Holy Trinity Peace Village-Kuron.
