Pax Christi UK Justice and Peace Conference

Pax Christi UK’s 35th Annual Justice and Peace Conference took place in Derby, UK, in late July. The theme of this year’s event was “Breaking open the word”.  Keynote speaker was Pax Christi UK Peace Ambassador Megan McKenna. Participants were encouraged to get back to the scriptural roots of work for peace and social justice and to be more creative in communicating this message through word, scripture, art, literature as well as traditional forms of campaigning. The Pax Christi UK section led two workshops on the theme of human security and how this vision can be better communicated for our world today. The workshops were led by Pat Gaffney, General Secretary of Pax Christi UK.

Pax Christi UK also ran a resource stall during the conference - part of which was an activity to invite people to vote on what their priority would be in terms of Government public spending. Read more about the conference proceeding here.
