Pax Christi International to support Global Days of Action on Military Spending launched by the International Peace Bureau

23/04/2018 - On the occasion of its 2018 Annual General Meeting, which took place in Arras (France) from 19-22 April (Read more by clicking here), Pax Christi International has contributed to the "GLOBAL DAYS OF ACTION ON MILITARY SPENDING" social media campaign.

The Global Days of Action Against Military Spending (GDAMS) is an initiative from the International Peace Bureau (IPB) of which Pax Christi International is a member. The campaign is running from 14th April to 3rd May with the aim to create public awareness about what the money invested in increasing military spending could be used for instead.

We invited our section representatives to join this campaign in order to promote budgets for nonviolent approaches to sustain peace, which is one of our advocacy priorities, writing on a poster where they would move 10% of global military spending to.

We shared the photos on our social media by using the hashtags #MoveTheMoney and #SelfieCampaign2018. See the photo gallery of the campaign.
