Pax Christi is grateful to José Henríquez for his many contributions as our Secretary General.

December 2015

For the past three years we have been blessed by the commitment and hard work of José Henríquez as Pax Christi International’s Secretary General. José has given generously of his talents to our common pursuit of a just peace and has strengthened Pax Christi’s global network in many ways.

Upon careful discernment, José has decided to resign from his position as Secretary General, effective at the end of 2015. With the whole Pax Christi International Board, we have initiated a process that will ensure continuity and continued excellence as we move through this significant transition.

We are pleased that Greet Vanaerschot, whose commitment to and over 30 years of experience with Pax Christi International is well known to all of us, has agreed to serve as interim Secretary General during the transition.  As Deputy Secretary General since 2010, Greet has been deeply engaged at a management level in all of our endeavors. She is fully capable of leading our movement’s important work for peace and reconciliation.  As co-presidents of Pax Christi International and with Jan Peters as the executive committee, we will continue to be present to the process and fully engaged in the major decisions that lie ahead.

With the ongoing support of the international board and the leadership of Pax Christi national sections and other member organizations, Pax Christi International will continue to pursue effectively the peace and reconciliation so needed in our broken world.

In peace,
