Pax Christi Austria's Waldhuttl project

“Waldhüttl” is a project of Pax Christi Austria which gives shelter to individuals who face several difficulties in their life: homelessness, poverty, the search for asylum, or belonging to a marginalized group such as the Roma. In July, Pax Christi Austria and the Service Civil International organised a workcamp to make the Waldhüttl area disabled-friendly. Young adults from Spain, Taiwan (province of China), Russia, Serbia, South Korea, Japan and Austria lived and worked together for two weeks, played football, met asylum seekers in the neighbourhood, shared stories from their home countries and gave each other strength in the grief following the attacks in Nice and elsewhere in the world, and encouraged each other to learn more about other cultures.
