It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we are deeply saddened to announce the passing away of

Let us all pay tribute to a missionary and defender of human rights, whom nothing, even long struggle with the disease and suffering, stopped from continuing his march in pursuing human rights, until the last moment of his life.

For all of you, who have known late Father Al Aya, he was pillar in defending the rights of the prisoners, the weak and the marginalized, and he was a leading force in the struggle alongside them. He was also a true believer in the role of civil society to human rights.

The entire AJEM family ask for your hope and faith; reassuring to adhere the values and principles on which Father Al Aya laid the foundations of our society.

The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, 11 July, 2017 at 4:00 pm, at the headquarters of the Antonin Maronite Order, Mar Roukoz Monastery - Dekwaneh.

Condolences will be accepted before and after the funeral service and on Wednesday, 12 July, 2017 at Mar Roukoz Monastry - Dekwaneh and on Thursday, 13 July, 2017 at St Anthony of Padua church hall - Baabdat, from 11 am to 7 pm.

May the Almighty God bless his soul and rest him in peace and for all his family and friends may God grant the patience and hope to overcome these difficult days.
