World Week for Peace for Palestine and Israel: Pax Christi International sends letters to Vatican and national church leaders

On the occasion of the World Week for Peace for Palestine and Israel (WWPPI), Pax Christi International has sent letters to the Vatican's Secretary of State and Secretary for Relations with States drawing attention to the situation of the Palestinians.

Pax Christi International has, in cooperation with its member organisations, also sent letters to bishops, archbishops and cardinals in the UK, USA, Ireland and Brazil.

Through our communications, we have shared the Open Letter of the National Coalition of Christian Organizations in Palestine to the World Council of Churches (WCC) and the ecumenical movement. This letter expresses the voice of Christian Palestinians and was presented on 20 June 2017 at the WCC Consultation on 50 Years of Occupation and the Ecumenical Response in the Holy Land.

Pax Christi International asks the Catholic Church in this symbolic year of commemoration to increasingly focus on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and to take action in accordance with the needs and wishes of the Palestinians.
