Germany: Norbert Richter re-elected as Federal Chairman of Pax Christi Germany
"Nonviolence is the core of the Pax Christi movement," states Norbert Richter, recently re-elected as Federal Chairman of Pax Christi Germany.
"My goal is that Pax Christi is in the social discourse around controversies over alternatives to the military. A task for Pax Christi is to find answers to how trust can grow between conflicting parties, how a particular interest in cooperation can be transformative, and how a just world economic order can encourage avoidance of military conflicts," said Richter, re-elected to his post in Fulda.
He stressed, "With the clear definition of active nonviolence as the core of the Pax Christi movement, we define the parameters that will determine our work in the years to come."
The Essen economist and radio and television technician has been Pax Christi's Federal Chairman and was re-elected for another three years with only one vote against. Richter, born in 1959, works as a compliance manager for an electronics company.
