Erklärung der pax christi Deutschland - 10.03.2010
pax christi fordert die Bundesregierung auf, die bisher für die Unterstützung der VN-Blauhelmmission im
Kongo (MONUC) von Deutschland eingesetzten finanziellen Mittel in Zukunft zusätzlich in der bilateralen
und multilateralen Entwicklungszusammenarbeit mit der DR Kongo einzusetzen. Insbesondere wichtig
ist dabei die Transformation der Kriegsökonomie in eine Friedensökonomie, Aufbau von
Bildungsinstitutionen, Staats-, Polizei- und Justizaufbau sowie die Stärkung der Zivilgesellschaft
insbesondere durch Versöhnungsarbeit. 2010-03-12 Withdrawal of Monuc in 2011: Pax Christi Germany is demanding a reinforcement of civilian peace initiatives.
Statement of Pax Christi Germany - 10 March 2010 - The Monuc, the United Nations Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo seems to be preparing for withdrawal. By the end of 2010 the presence of Monuc forces would only remain in the conflictuous regions of the Kivu provinces. A total withdrawal of the UN-peacekeeping mission would be planned for mid 2011. Pax Christi Germany is deploring the outlook of a withdrawal of Monuc and demands a reinforcement of civilian peace building initiatives and a strengthening of legal institutions. 2009-11-05 Climate Change: An appeal
