Enfants dans les Conflits Armés - L’Enfant-Soldat
Un nombre effarant d’abus continent d’être perpétrés à l’encontre des enfants lors des conflits armés. Sur base des constatations des Organisations travaillant sur le terrain partout dans le monde, Pax Christi International est persuadé que l’observation, la dénonciation et un mécanisme de remédiation constituent une nécessité cruciale si l’on veut mettre fin à ces abus scandaleux commis contre les enfants.
Pax Christi International soutient dès lors la Résolution 1612 des Nations Unies et est bien décidé à poursuivre son action se sensibilisation à propos des enfants-soldats et des abus dont sont victimes les enfants. Le Mouvement soutient bien entendu aussi toutes les Organisations, quelles soient locales ou communautaires, qui travaillent dans ces domaines, en cherchant à leur fournir un accès toujours meilleurs aux informations disponibles à ce sujet, de manière à leur faciliter la tâche en leur permettant de prendre les initiatives immédiates capables de combattre ces abus et de disposer des appuis locaux pour assurer à cette action toutes les chances de réussir.

Pax Christi International together with other International Catholic NGOs active at the United Nations in Geneva and New York submitted a written statement on Children’s Rights to the 7th Session of the Human Rights Council. The International Convention on the Rights of the Child has played a positive role in raising awareness among States and peoples. However, this process needs to be further developed and, therefore, the NGOs wishes to call the attention of the Human Rights Council to the promotion and protection of the dignity and rights of children, specially those who have been exploited at work and those in conflict with the law – both situations that are source of grave violations and for which the Council has not taken any proportional measures that respond to the seriousness of these phenomena.
